PUFF PASTRY XMAS TREE

A puff pastry Christmas tree filled with delicious ingredients 😋

It looks like a centerpiece but is actually very easy: ready-made puff pastry, a simple filling, a few cuts and twists, and the oven does the rest. Perfect for an aperitivo, a starter, or a snack while you open presents 🎁🎄

Ingredients

  • 3 puff pastry rolls
  • 100 gr sliced mozzarella
  • 100 gr tomato sauce
  • 100 gr sliced provola cheese
  • 100 gr prosciutto crudo
  • 100 gr salmon
  • 100 gr herbs philadelphia cheese
  • 1 beaten egg or a few spoon of milk (to brush the rools)

Procedure

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Unroll puff pastry. Cut ~4 cm strips along the short side (about 7 strips).
  3. Add filling on each strip: Tomato sauce + mozzarella; Provola + prosciutto crudo; Philadelphia + smoked salmon
  4. Roll each strip into a spiral “rose” and brush tops with milk or beaten egg.
  5. Bake ~30 min until puffed and golden.
  6. Arrange rolls into a Christmas tree shape as in the photo.
