Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g sugar
  • 250 ml milk
  • 50 g butter, melted in a bain-marie (or gently in a saucepan/microwave)
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 sachet vanilla baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Procedure

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and foamy.
  2. Add the milk and melted butter, and mix well.
  3. Sift the flour together with the baking powder, then add it to the mixture and stir until smooth.
  4. Butter and flour a ring cake tin (ciambellone tin) and pour in three-quarters of the batter.
  5. Add the cocoa powder to the remaining batter, mix well, then pour this cocoa batter over the light batter in the tin (for a marbled effect).
  6. Bake in a preheated oven (static) at 180°C for about 40 minutes, and check with a skewer or toothpick (it has to come out clean).

Enjoy!
